The Painting Rag

THE PAINTING RAG is sponsoring another Try Painting Day in 2009, and we want you to create the painted design! We are inviting our Readers to create and submit a design for the second Try Painting Day event and the contest is open to all painters!

SPECIFICS:

* Design & project submitted must be applicants own original design, and

never before Published.

* Surface - wood, tin, paper, masonite or canvas

* Size – 5x7 or smaller

* The project should take a brand new painter 45 minutes or less to complete

* The project should require at least two specialty elements, such as a specific

specialty brush, an acrylic medium, a sparkle substance, etc.

THEME:

Fall, winter or everyday

(Hint: The Try Painting Day event will take place in the Fall)

MEDIUM:

Acrylic paint.

DUE DATE:

All submissions must be received at THE PAINTING RAG office by January 10, 2009.

On the back of the submitted project please include your name, address, phone number and the project title. Either write on back of the project or securely apply a label with the information.

Send your finished 5x7 (or smaller) project, painting instructions, line drawing, a complete supply list, submission form and a signed and dated agreement to:

REWARD:

One Grand Winner:

The chosen design will be published in THE PAINTING RAG newspaper advertising the TRY PAINTING DAY II event.

A feature article will be written about the Artist.

Five Second Place Winners:

Five runners-up will have their projects published in an article about the contest and will receive a free one-year subscription to THE PAINTING RAG!
